The Art of Conservation Grouse
Mountain Resort
Vancouver, BC
David's "Pika
Study" and "Madagascar
- Creatures of the Night II" have been juried into the
prestigious “The Art of Conservation 2011” exhibit.
This year the annual exhibit will be expanded into the first
annual Artists for Conservation Festival – a 10-day
international art and environmental education event in
beautiful Vancouver, Canada at Grouse Mountain Resort.
Grouse Mountain is one of Vancouver's premier
attractions, set on mountain-top, accessible by gondola and
overlooking Vancouver and the ocean, and was highlighted
during the 2010 Winter Olympics. With wonderful
facilities for art display, seminars, social events, a
theatre, fine dining, nature trails and a wildlife refuge
with Timber Wolves and Grizzly Bears - all just a few
minutes from downtown Vancouver and 45 minutes from one of
the world's top outdoor/alpine resort towns - Whistler, BC.
Some highlights of this year's event include AFC's fourth
annual juried art exhibit of approximately 75 artworks, film
premiere, art workshops, lectures, and demonstrations (in
which David will be involved), a Gala Fundraising and awards
dinner with a keynote presentation by Robert Bateman,
involvement from First Nations, and much more.
